Dr. Pradeep Khosla
Dr. Pradeep Khosla, one of the most respected minds in the areas of advanced information systems technology and security, brings unique insight advising the management team of iPolicy Networks. Dr Khosla is currently Dean of the College of Engineering, Philip and Marsha Dowd Professor of Engineering, and the Founding Director of CyLab at Carnegie-Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Khosla’s areas of scientific interest include reconfigurable and distributed collaborating autonomous systems, agent-based architectures, reconfigurable software and security for embedded systems, and distributed information systems. His contributions in these fields have earned him many prestigious awards including the ASEE 1999 George Westinghouse Award for Education, the Silicon India Leadership award for Excellence in Academics and Technology in 2000, and the W. Wallace McDowell award from IEEE Computer Society in 2001. Professor Khosla's research has been published in three books and more than three hundred articles in journals, conferences, and book contributions. He serves on the editorial boards of IEEE Spectrum, IEEE Security and Privacy, Oxford University Press Series in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Association of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS).

His credentials earned him positions on the advisory boards of several prestigious US government institutions, namely the Council of Deans of the Aeronautics Advisory Committee, NASA and the Senior Advisory Group, DARPA Program on Joint Unmanned Combat Air Systems. Overseas, Dr. Khosla was welcomed as member of the Strategy Review Board for Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan and the IT advisory committee, CSIRO, Australia.

Dr Khosla is a brilliant researcher who is not just entrenched in academic pursuits. He is very involved in helping industry bring to market products based on the latest advances in science and technology. He co-founded Quantapoint, Inc. a high tech company based in Pittsburgh, PA. He advises Venture Capitalists and several startups, including iPolicy Networks, and he is member of the board for Quantapoint Inc., the Children’s Institute, the IIT Foundation, the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative (PTEI), and the Mellon-Pitt (MPC) corporation.

Pradeep Khosla received his Bachelor in Technology from IIT Kharagpur, India. His Master of Science and PhD degrees are from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.

 
Dr. Rajeev Motwani
Dr. Rajeev Motwani is a much-sought advisor to new technology companies and access to his experience and knowledge is an invaluable asset to the executive team of iPolicy Networks. Dr. Motwani is Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and serves as its Director of Graduate Studies.

Dr. Motwani has contributed his research efforts to diverse fields of knowledge in computer science, including databases and data mining, web search and information retrieval, robotics, computational drug design, and theoretical computer science. He is the author “Randomized Algorithms”, a book published by Cambridge University Press in 1995. He also wrote an undergraduate textbook which published by Addison-Wesley in 2001.

Many prizes and awards recognize Dr. Motwani’s eminent contribution to scientific research. He has received the Godel Prize, the Okawa Foundation Research Award, the Arthur Sloan Research Fellowship, the National Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation, the Bergmann Memorial Award from the US-Israel Bi-National Science Foundation, and an IBM Faculty Award. He serves on the editorial boards of SIAM Journal on Computing, of the Journal of Computer and System Sciences and of the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering.

In addition to advising iPolicy Networks’ executive team, Dr. Motwani has served as advisor to several new high-technology startups including the Internet search engine star, Google, now a public company.

Dr. Motwani received his PhD in computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
